I am still relatively new to this whole blogging thing and only a few people are reading my blog, so I write this, more or less, for myself and that’s it.
This week, I’ve made some comments on blogs which were featured in the Freshly Pressed page on wordpress.com. Oh boy! I had no idea, or I just did not think that far but I learned something very valuable during these last days. Never ever check the “Notify me of follow-up comments via e-mail.” on a freshly pressed article or your e-mail address will be hijacked with hundreds and hundreds of mails! Only check this box if you have absolutely nothing to do with your time, are avoiding doing something else or like getting mail you don’t read. (I know I enjoy it from time to time, which is the reason I haven’t canceled the amazon-newsletter, but that is a whole different league.)
I really did not expect so many mails. In the beginning I tried reading them but after the 20th mail I gave up and they just went straight to trash. Sorry, but most of them were repetitious and thus not so interesting. Maybe there is a button somewhere so you can turn off the mails even after you once agreed on them but I didn’t find it, so I gave up.
This is all for tonight, I wanted to share my surprise of an overflowing e-mail address before going to bed reading the boring book I bought three days ago, but more on that later.
